First Arriving's integration with YouTube is a great way to get training videos, messages from leadership, and other video content front and center to personnel.

Features Include:

  • Complete control of videos that show on your dashboards
  • Flexibility of when the videos will play
  • Alarms will still take priority.  Video will pause for duration of the alarm and then automatically start once alarm duration has ended.
  • Choose between :
    • Full Screen
    • Half Screen
    • 1/4 Screen
    • 3/4 Screen
    • Our support team will be able to assist you in determining this based on your current dashboard layout.
  • On-Demand Option in your dashboard menu.
    • When users click on the menu, there will be a youtube menu item
    • This will automatically start to play the playlist that was provided to First Arriving.  Please note it is good practice to hit the pause button after clicking youtube to ensure the videos play for longer duration.
    • Default duration when Pause is clicked is 5 minutes.

What We Need:

  • You'll need an YouTube account
  • Unlisted or Public Playlist URL
  • Time of day to schedule the videos to play
  • Duration of how long you want videos to play
  • Menu Feature Enabled for On-Demand feature

How to Create a YouTube playlist :

  • Login to your account at youtube.com
  • Click user on top-right of window and select "Your Channel"

  • There should be a blue button that says "Customize Channel"

  • Click on Playlists, the 3rd option.

  • Click +New Playlist to create a new one

  • You can now name it.  We suggest naming it something like "First Arriving Playlist" so that you know it will be used for your dashboards.

**MAKE SURE THAT YOU SELECT EITHER PUBLIC OR UNLISTED IN THE DROP-DOWN MENU.  IF YOU DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO BE ABLE TO FIND THE PLAYLIST OR VIDEOS, SELECT "UNLISTED." **

  • You can now upload your own videos to the newly created playlist.

**MAKE SURE THAT YOU SELECT EITHER PUBLIC OR UNLISTED FOR THE VIDEOS WITHIN THE PLAYLIST!  IF YOU DO NOT WANT ANYONE TO BE ABLE TO FIND THE VIDEOS, SELECT "UNLISTED." **
